Wagner's Friday Night 7/5/13

I met a new friend ,Aidan, while I was out listening to a band at Wagner's Winery in Lodi, NY (and sketching instead of  dancing).  He allowed me to sketch him in watercolor and then I asked him to sketch something in my sketchbook.  Aidan is 10 years old and I think what  he drew for me was a perfect subject  for the place and time.  I am posting both of our sketches.  I know everyone who sees his sketch will appreciate his hard work and his skill in drawing.

Wine in pencil by Aidan
We met outside on the deck where  we sketched, in very low lighting,  listened to the band ,and watched  fireworks across the lake.  Enjoyed a wonderful evening and was glad to meet another art-person like me.

Lexa and guests at Adah's wedding shower

This is a sketch done directly in ink while I was at a wedding shower in Waterloo, NY.  "Stealth sketching" with my sketchbook on my lap under the table.

The William's Little Sweetie

Done in watercolor from a photo texted to me.
The colors on the computer monitor don't quite look as subtle as they do in the original and I
believe her family will be pleased.  Merry Christmas.

My husband sketched from life in the hospital.  Not one of his better days, but fortunately he is much healthier now.  I put closeup pattern of his gown in circle, as well as the tree image that I saw outside of his window.

Effy Wild Embrace the Suckage

While watching Effy's live stream she said to "Embrace the suckage"  when you do something that you didn't intend to just embrace it and go on.  I thought it was a pretty great statement.
Sketched from the live video with Pentel Pocket Brush Pen on orange pre-stenciled sketchbook.
Purple watercolor.  Have been drawing with no preliminary pencil sketches in this book.  It is multi media paper, smooth art stock, 110#, but unfortunately when watercolor is put on the paper wants to peel.
The ink does not show through to the other side so that is a plus.

Martha Lee, Seeking for Art, as seen with her daughter at AFA Texas

A journal page that I didn't finish at the ArtForAll 2011 Dallas, Texas convention.  I promised this page for Martha and just finished it using a photo I took there.
