Effy Wild Embrace the Suckage

While watching Effy's live stream she said to "Embrace the suckage"  when you do something that you didn't intend to just embrace it and go on.  I thought it was a pretty great statement.
Sketched from the live video with Pentel Pocket Brush Pen on orange pre-stenciled sketchbook.
Purple watercolor.  Have been drawing with no preliminary pencil sketches in this book.  It is multi media paper, smooth art stock, 110#, but unfortunately when watercolor is put on the paper wants to peel.
The ink does not show through to the other side so that is a plus.

Martha Lee, Seeking for Art, as seen with her daughter at AFA Texas

A journal page that I didn't finish at the ArtForAll 2011 Dallas, Texas convention.  I promised this page for Martha and just finished it using a photo I took there.
Watercolor on her journal page - unknown paper type  8"x8"

Tree frog climbing the glass door

I have never seen a tree frog on the glass door before.  Was thrilled that I got to actually view it in person from an angle that was natural and one that would be impossible to stage.

Canandaigua Lake, NY

Sketching in the rain while looking for a letterbox that we never found.

The man shape and the bird shape are images of the Indian relics found on this sight. They were carved in stone. On the right page is the lake and breakwater...with duck butts. My niece, who was with me, said; " You suck at drawing duck butts." I believe I have to agree. The spots are the rain drops and my ink wasn't waterproof until dry.

Family Reunion - Heaton/Greening

I am a Heaton by birth and went to a family reunion in Bergen, NY. I sketched the porch and flowers from my view at a picnic table and the miniature doberman (?) who was relaxing.

Ink and watercolor. The purple and yellow is paper that was already collaged onto the page.

Sketching in my hand bound book

I have started yet another sketchbook and am enjoying the Urban Sketcher site, therefore, I have decided to share some of my quick sketches made from life as I meander through my life.

This is the view of the canal going through Seneca Falls, NY that I pass daily on my way to work.

Pen and watercolor

Birds on the roof tops

Seneca Falls, NY

The birds captured my eye and then I got drawn in to the view.

Pen and watercolor. The orange is a collage piece that was already on the page.

The Girls of Women's Rights

This sculpture is in Seneca Falls, NY (the birthplace of women's rights) on my way home from work I stopped to sketch. They were brave women who worked hard so that women could have the right to vote so I thought the quote was appropriate.

Ink and watercolor.
